Open Road Media And Albert Whitman & Company Release First 19 Titles In The Boxcar Children Mysteries As Ebooks

Just in time for the holidays!

Open Road Media and Albert have just released the first 19 titles in the beloved and classic children’s series The Boxcar Children Mysteries as ebooks.  With more then 125 titles written and over 50 million in print, The Boxcar Children Mysteries is one of the best-loved and enduring children’s series of all time.
These first 19 titles in the series, now available as ebooks, were written by series creator Gertrude Chandler Warner. The concept behind The Boxcar Children Mysteries was inspired by Warner’s childhood, during which she spent hours watching trains go by near her family’s home. Sometimes she could look through the window of a caboose and see a small stove, a little table, cracked cups with no saucers, and a tin coffee pot boiling away on the stove. The sight fascinated her, and she dreamed of how much fun it would be to live and keep house in a boxcar or caboose. Later, as a schoolteacher, Warner thought up the first story about the Boxcar Children—and Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden came to life!

Open Road Media will publish the entire Boxcar Children Mysteries series by the end of 2011.
