(New York, NY — April 10, 2017) Open Road Integrated Media (OR/M) is delighted to share the news of some well-deserved promotions in the marketing team.

Mauricio Diaz has been promoted to Art Director. Mauricio joined Open Road in 2011 as an assistant designer and has steadily expanded his responsibilities since then. Mauricio has brought a new approach to cover design over the past year and is responsible for elevating the look of our newly published ebooks as well as completely revitalizing the backlist. In February, he completed an extensive project to update the entire list of titles we publish.

Matthew Thompson has been promoted to Executive Editor of our branded funnel sites. Matthew joined Open Road in 2014 and since then has coordinated staff writers, freelance contributors, and fellow editors to produce a network of popular community sites. Matthew writes, researches, and edits articles, orchestrating content partnerships and fine-tuning our editorial direction based on reader engagement and search-engine optimization.

Amanda Shaffer has been promoted to Designer. Amanda joined Open Road as a marketing design associate in 2014. Last year, she transitioned to designing book covers, setting up print cover mechanicals, and creating back ads. Some of Amanda’s original illustrations are featured on our covers, and we are looking forward to seeing her visual representation of our bundles very soon. Amanda reports to Mauricio Diaz.

Carolyn Cox has been promoted to Senior Editor of our branded funnel sites. Carolyn joined Open Road last July from The Mary Sue. Since then, she has been charged with writing engaging, informative articles about pop culture, books, science, and space, while using analytics tools to develop data-driven content and grow traffic organically. Carolyn reports to Jen Jackson.

Renata Sweeney has been promoted to Associate Marketing Manager. Renata joined Open Road as a marketing intern in 2014 and has steadily grown and expanded her responsibilities. She now develops marketing plans for a number of verticals, including historical fiction and nonfiction—two of our best-performing categories. She has also been the voice of Twitter for the company over the past year and has curated and created a number of title-specific and general-interest content pieces for our banded funnel sites.

Greta Shull has been promoted to Marketing Associate. Greta joined Open Road as a marketing intern in 2015. Since then, she has taken on responsibility for managing many (34!) of our author Facebook pages as well as Open Road’s presence on Pinterest. She creates content for the Early Bird Books blog, works on audience development for our backlist and frontlist ebook releases, continues to hone her expertise in new marketing tools, and keeps our editorial group informed of our marketing activities.

Paola Crespo has been promoted to Marketing Associate. Paola joined Open Road in 2015 as a marketing intern. After a short stint at Penguin, she returned to us full time and has turned her attention to marketing genre ebook and print titles. To that end, she is charged with digital advertising and marketing campaigns for frontlist and backlist titles, as well as content creation for our sites and our authors’ social media platforms.

Daniel O’Connor has been promoted to Marketing Coordinator. Daniel joined Open Road last April as a marketing intern. In addition to managing the Early Bird Books social media channels and assisting with outreach for our frontlist and backlist publications, Daniel has begun to tackle digital advertising campaigns and now has responsibility for our LGBT and Inspirational ebooks.
