Open Road Media Names Timothy Travaglini Director Of Children’s Acquisitions

Former Senior Editor at G. P. Putnam’s Sons Will Help Expand Open Road’s Fast-Growing Children’s Publishing Program

Travaglini Has Worked with a Wide Range of Bestselling and Award-Winning Authors and Illustrators Including Michael Rex, Laini Taylor, Michael P. Spradlin, and D. M. Cornish

Open Road Integrated Media (www.openroadmedia.com), a digital publisher and multimedia content company, announced today that Timothy Travaglini has joined the company as Director of Children’s Acquisitions. Travaglini will help expand Open Road’s ebook acquisition program for backlist children’s titles spanning young adult, middle grade, and picture books. He will also be involved in the acquisition of and publication activities for Open Road Publishing Partners and frontlist E-riginal titles. Travaglini will report to Barbara Marcus, Advisor, Children’s Books.

Open Road’s growing children’s list includes titles from authors such as Virginia Hamilton, Andrea J. Buchanan, Bette Greene, Peter Lerangis, and Lois Lenski.

Travaglini was formerly Senior Editor at G. P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers, a division of Penguin Group. He began his career at Scholastic in 1994 in trade marketing, and went on to become a bookseller at Books of Wonder in New York City before switching to editorial, first at Henry Holt and Company and then Walker & Company. Over the course of his career, Travaglini’s authors and illustrators have included #1 New York Times–bestselling author/illustrator Michael Rex, National Book Award finalist Laini Taylor, New York Times–bestselling author Michael P. Spradlin, CBCA Book of the Year winner D. M. Cornish, Matthew McElligott, Janette Rallison, and Leo and Diane Dillon.
