    Biography

    Throughout his career, Philip has acquired and edited books with an emphasis on pop culture, self-help, lifestyle, memoir, and narrative nonfiction. He currently directs the Open Road Publishing Group editorial team, oversees publishing partnerships, and acquires nonfiction and fiction for the company. Philip has held editorial positions at Bantam Dell, McClelland & Stewart, and Free Press, and in academic publishing. A native Washingtonian, after graduating from McGill University in Montreal, he completed French-language programs at Université Paul Cézanne Aix-Marseille III and Université de Montréal. Philip was a bookseller and later became co-owner of the gay, lesbian, and feminist bookstore Librairie l’Androgyne in Montreal. In 2003, he was an editorial fellow at the Jerusalem International Book Fair, and for several years he served as the fair’s US liaison.
