Including Robert Munsch’s International Bestseller The Paper Bag Princess

Annick Press, innovative publisher of fiction and nonfiction for children and young adults, and Open Road Integrated Media, a digital publisher and multimedia content company, announced today that they will publish thirty-four children’s ebooks, including Robert Munsch’s children’s classic The Paper Bag Princess, The Mole Sisters series by Roslyn Schwartz, and original picture books such as Red Is Best by Kathy Stinson.

The ebooks will be on sale this summer from Amazon.com, Apple iBookstore, BarnesandNoble.com, Google/IndieBound, Kobo Books, OverDrive, and the Sony Reader Store.

“Annick has enjoyed over thirty-five years of publishing success. Now, as we prepare to position our program for the future, we are thrilled to partner with Open Road Media,” says Rick Wilks, co-founder and director of Annick Press. “Perhaps the foremost challenge facing creators of books for youth is finding the paths to connect with today’s readers. We’re confident that a relationship with Open Road will forge such a connection, to the betterment of all who appreciate access to both their favorite titles and to making new discoveries.”

“Open Road is very excited about our new relationship with Annick Press,” said Open Road advisor Barbara Marcus. “Annick publishes timeless titles that we have long admired. Now with Open Road, these books will also be available as ebooks, which we are excited to distribute and market to a new audience of digital readers.”

The partnership with Annick Press furthers Open Road Media’s children’s strategy, which includes publishing partnerships with Kids Can Press and Albert Whitman & Company, as well as authors such as Virginia Hamilton, Jean Craighead George, and Bette Greene.

Upcoming titles include:

  • Picture books by Robert Munsch, such as The Paper Bag Princess, Pigs, and Mortimer
  • The Mole Sisters series, written and illustrated by Roslyn Schwartz
  • Original picture books including Red Is Best by Kathy Stinson and Together by Hazel Hutchins
