Open Road Integrated Media Expands Its Marketing Team

Appointments Further Open Road’s Commitment to Digital Marketing 

Diverse Range of Experience Includes Work in Social Media, Design, and Production

(New York, NY – June 8, 2011) Open Road Integrated Media (www.openroadmedia.com), a digital publisher and multimedia content company, today announced the expansion of its marketing team. The marketing team will report to Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Chou and work closely with her to leverage the worlds of social media, viral distribution, and emerging technologies to market Open Road and its publishing partners’ ebooks and syndicate Open Road’s premium marketing content.

Their individual responsibilities and backgrounds include:

  • Lauren Naefe joins Open Road as Senior Digital Marketing Manager and reports to Rachel Chou. She will focus on publishing partnerships and author brand marketing. Lauren comes from a career in online marketing, formerly at HarperCollins and Doubleday and most recently at the National School Climate Council.
  • Allison Myers Underwood will report to Lauren Naefe as Marketing Manager. Previously Allison held the position of Online Marketing Manager at Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group and before that she was Digital Content and Marketing Manager at Macmillan Audio.
  • Laura De Silva has been promoted to Associate Digital Marketing Manager reporting to Rachel Chou. She will continue to work on author brand marketing including campaigns for Pat Conroy, William Styron, and James Jones. She holds an MS in Publishing from New York University and an AB in English from Princeton University.
  • Justin Mitchell has joined Open Road as Assistant Marketing Manager reporting to Laura De Silva. Justin previously interned with the Paris Review and was in the Associates Program at Simon & Schuster. He holds a BA in English from Amherst College and an M.Phil in Literature from Cambridge.
  • Lara Selavka takes on the role of Assistant Interactive Producer reporting to Pablo Defendini, Interactive Producer. Lara previously focused on social media integration and training as well as content production. She holds an MS in Publishing from New York University.

Open Road is also building out its Digital Entertainment division, run by Executive Vice President of Production Luke Parker Bowles. The division produces the signature rich video content that Open Road uses in its marketing.

  • Jack Taylor has been promoted to Post Production Manager and reports to Danny Monico, Director of Digital Entertainment. Jack will manage and oversee the DigiEnt studio and produce author video content for Open Road’s marketing platform— including author brand pieces, author profiles for publishing partnerships, and innovative concepts for authors in the E-riginals program.
